19 Objective of the Course: The basic aim of the course is to enable students to comprehend the concepts of information society and e-government and to gain knowledge on the practice of e-government through a comparison between e-government applications in Turkey and other countries.

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To have an idea about the meaning of information society. ;
2 To grasp the significance of information society for today’s world. ;
3 To be able to evaluate the transitory phases to information society in Turkey.;
4 To have a basic knowledge on the definiton and content of the concept of information society.;
5 To learn the highlights of the concept and practice of e-government.;
6 To compare and evaluate different e-government practices in Turkey and other countries.;
7 To learn the necessary e-transition projects for the e-government model. ;
8 To examine examples from e-government applications in Turkey.;
