19 Objective of the Course: The aim of this course is to give students a sociological perspective for evaluating the urban processes and to provide them with the basic knowledge on the main features of the urban society.

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To have a foundational knowledge for evaluating urban processes from a sociological perspective.;
2 To be able to analyze latest developments in the field of urban sociology.;
3 To be capable of keeping up with developments taking place in urban areas in an era of globalization and to be able to evaluate them.;
4 To gain knowledge on the concepts of urban regeneration and spatial segregation.;
5 To be able to analyze the relation between urban inequalities and social justice. ;
6 To be equipped with the necessary theoratical tools for analyzing urban poverty and social exclusion.;
7 To have knowledge on urban culture and urban sub-cultures.;
8 To be able to evaluate the future of urban sociology.;
