19 Objective of the Course: The aim of this course is to obtain information to students about the political and ethnic situation of the Balkans; current problems of the Balkans; Historical and cultural ties of Turks with the Balkans; The Relations of Turkey with Balkan countries; The Turks in the Balkans and their problems; Balkan policies of major powers and Balkan immigrants.

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To be able to analyze the political and ethnic situation of the Balkans;
2 To be able to analyze the importance the Balkans for the Ottoman Empire and the Republic of Turkey;
3 To be able to evaluate Turkey's Balkan policy;
4 To be able to put forward ideas about the great powers policies on the Balkans and its consequences;
5 To be able to evaluate the impact of the Turks in Balkans and Balkan immigrants on the Turkish foreign policy;
6 To be able to participate in discussions about the Turks in the Balkans and their problems;
7 To be able to analyze the problems in the Balkans;
8 To be able to predict about the Turkey's Balkan policy;

7 Great powers policies on the Balkans and its consequences
8 The problem of Western Trace in the Turkish-Greece relations
