19 Objective of the Course: Apart from the teaching profession, the development of terminology and correspondence ability (company, trade, economy, law, insurance) in vocational and business French through translation techniques.

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To conduct research relating to the specified fields.;
2 To be acquainted with various texts relating to the field.;
3 To learn the technical terminology of the field.;
4 Ability to develop the skills for using the knowledge and terminology learned in the field.;
5 To be able to transfer the field knowledge in an objective-plain manner.;
6 To comprehend the structural function of the language in the field.;
7 To develop the practice skills in the two languages.;
8 To be able to implement these skills in daily life.;
22 Course Content:
Week Theoretical Practical
1 Introduction to the course aims and goals.
2 What is the field of specialized translation? Definitions and their characteristics (law, economy, trade, scientific fields).
3 Analysis of the problems and ways overcoming the problems faced in the field of technique translation.
4 Field of practice: The rules and characteristics of correspondence writing in economics and trade.
5 Field of economics: Practice of texts in the field economics.
6 Text in the field economics: Transfer of knowledge and discussing the language problems.
7 Text: making offers. The terminology and rules regarding to the language of preparing a report of offer.
8 Text: Language of the press. Introduction to the language and terminology acquisition.
9 Text: finance and accounting. Introduction to the language and terminology acquisition.
10 To be able to create dynamic equivalence while translating from French to Turkish.
11 Practice in translating examples letters of trade.
12 The rules and characteristics of writing the letters of trade.
13 Field of banking: The translation of banking operations.
14 Field of insurance: The translation of insurance operations.
