19 Objective of the Course: The aim of this course is providing theoretical information to students who take the course on scientific research methods and techniques and having a sample scientific study in their own fields with this information.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development After accomplishing this course, the prospective teachers will be able to recognize and applies techniques of scientific data collection

1 Recognize and explain the basic concepts of knowledge, science and scientific research;
2 Do bibliographic research;
3 Know and apply scientific research stages;
4 Prepare scientific research proposal;
5 Recognize and applies techniques of scientific data collection ;
6 Interpret scientific data;
7 Apply scientific research report writing techniques;
8 Recognize and identify problems in language teaching and do research proposal ;

1 Basic concepts of knowledge, science and scientific research
2 Basic concepts of scientific research types and methods
3 Basic concepts of scientific research stages: determining research subject, research question and assumptions, data collection, analysis, interpretation and reporting
4 Scientific field literature review, resource types and classification of resources
5 Scientific research subject selection and limitations
6 Formulating research problem and determining their hypothesis
7 Data collection methods: document scanning, observation, experiment, survey, etc.
8 Collection, recording, analysis and interpretation of data
9 Scientific writing techniques in research and reporting: plan types
10 Report preparation and scientific writing techniques in research: introduction and conclusion writing techniques
11 Scientific writing techniques in research and reporting: citing and citing techniques, APA, etc.
12 Dissemination of scientific research results and scientific research ethics
13 Examining a sample scientific research
14 Proposing a sample scientific research

Measurement and Evaluation Techniques Used in the Course In the teaching of the course, 3E, direct instruction, discussion, individual teaching and question-answer are applied. 1 midterm and 1 final exam are applied in the measurement and evaluation of the course. The success at the end of the evaluation is made in the form of relative evaluation.
