19 Objective of the Course: The aim of this course is to discuss the philosophical and theoretical implications of ecological problems
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development Since ecological problems will effect the formation of todays and coming society and politics this course will be helpful.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 At the end of the course, any student can understand the reasons of different cultural environments developed on the natural environment of Turkey and understand the spatial distribution of the population of the country, which forms the basis of social and economic structure, the reasons of migration movements between regions;
2 Learning main ecological issues such as global warming, population and deforestration;
3 Recognizing ethical implications of environmental issues;
4 Understanding the relations between ecology, politics and justice;
5 Discussing alternative models of society;

5 We should protect the nature: Anthropocentric ethics and the concept of sustainability
6 Value beyond protection Aesthetic value of the environment
7 For whom the environment should be protected: The problem of future generations
8 Should we care only humans? Animal rights and vegetarianism
9 Should we care only animals? Biocentric ethics
10 Holism beyond life Holistic land ethics
11 Values and mentality Deep Ecology
12 Material structure beyond minds: Eko-marxism
13 The problem is the structural mentalities: Eco-feminism and eco-anarchism
