19 Objective of the Course: To teach generally the history of United States of America.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development To grasp how USA that has the of one the most important economic and politic power in contemporarary period reached that point and to understand development process of USA.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To be able to define the founding period of USA.;
2 To be able to explain the war of independence of 13 colonies. ;
3 To be able to comprehend the social background of USA.;
4 To be able to comprehend the cultural background of USA.;
5 To be able to be informed about turning points in the history of USA.;
6 To be able to analyse the relations of USA with other states.;
7 To be able to learn the sources of financial and economic power of USA. ;
8 To be able to interpret the position of USA in World politics.;

1 The geographic position of America as a continent. The ancient civilizations lived in America The discovery of America and migrations to this continent.
2 The migrations to North America and colonial era. The characteristics of migrants and their settlements in America. The fusion of cultures
3 13 English colonies The war of independence of colonies The English-French conflict The declaration of independence and the victory of colonies.
4 The foundation of national government. The problems faced by new nation. The French Revolution and United States The second war with England and the treaty of Ghent
5 The independence of Latin America The Monroe Doctrine
6 The expansion of United States to west The differences between north and south states
7 America and the far east The slavery and the viewpoints of states about slavery Thoughts on slavery order American civil War (1861) and its results
