19 Objective of the Course: To explain the historical development of piano in terms of the development of music and changing stylistic thoughts.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development To have a broad knowledge of the piano literature and capability to transfer the knowledge and experiences for piano students to gain artistic maturity in performing
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To be able to give information about the historical development of keyboard instruments.;
2 To be able to give information about the effect of musical developments on piano forte. ;
3 To be able to explain the structural changes in today’s piano.;
4 To be able to recognize the significant pianists in piano literature.;
5 To be able to give information about the use of pedal in piano music written in different periods.;
6 To be able to explain the usage techniques of the piano in the 20th century piano music.;

8 Structural improvements of piano
9 Changing conprehensions and important pianists
10 Piano today and searching new sounds
11 History of the usage of pedal in piano
12 The existence of modern pedal technique
13 Light pedals since 1800
14 Different approaches about the usage of piano today
