19 Objective of the Course: Starting with XI century until XVI century, to learn the development and dissemination of the general tendencies of the Turkish language and to introduce the important works
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development To have knowledge about historical Turkish dialects and to be able to distinguish them.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Understanding the importance and function of the language, the culture on more.;
2 Able to read the manuscript texts written with Arabic script;
3 To have information about Turkish literature is developed under the influence of Islam;
4 To learn the elements of oral and written culture;

Week Theoretical Practical
1 The formation of Middle Turkish
2 Differences between the old Turkish and Middle Turkish.
3 The Karakhanid Turkish’s language properties
4 Status of the Turkish world period of Middle Turkish and branches of the Turkish languages
5 Mahmud el Kashgar and the Divan u Lughat-Turk: İts content, the terms importance of language and culture history and related works
6 Yusuf Hacib, and Kutadgu Bilig, the importance of the work, works on the copies
7 Text Analysis on Kutadgu Bilig
8 Atabetu’l Hakayık and Edip Ahmet; Khwarezm language’s properties and works
9 Text analysis on the Nahcu’l Faradis
10 Chaghatai Turkish’s language properties and importance works Ali Şir Navai and his works, Muhakemetü’l Lugateyn.
11 Kipchak Turkish and its language properties, studies on the Codex Cumanicus.
12 Mamluk-Kipchak Turkish’s Works and studies have on them. Seyfi Sarayi, to introduce of the Gulistan translation, and examples.
