19 Objective of the Course: It aims to provide students with the content of comparative politics concept, basic political systems and the main actors of politics. This course also aims to provide knowledge on the globally powerful political systems such as Britain, Russia, China and the USA by taking into account the relations between the nation states, the international system and the economic structure of the country.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To identify the state formation and state-building strategies.;
2 To be able to identify the difference between the state and other political systems. ;
3 To learn the dynamics shaping the political system.;
4 To be able to distinguish interest and pressure groups in different political systems. ;
5 To gain knowledge on the relations between politics and economics. ;
6 To be able to comment on the possible changes that the economic and social transformations can bring about in the state structure. ;
7 To be able to analyze the effects of the transformations taking place in the international system on state structures as well as the relations between different states. ;
8 To identify current issues such as democracy, human rights, minorities and nationalism within the framework provided by the comparative politics literature. ;
