Learning Outcomes:

1 To be able to know important sources about the topic, terminology, chronology of archaic period, style-critic, anatomy.; 2 To be able to know historical events those provide the arising of Greek Sculpture.; 3 To be able to know the role of Anatolia and Egypt those provide the arising and development of sculpture.; 4 To be able to know the first examples of colossal statues and the normal human size statues.; 5 To be able to know male statues which are dated to archaic period.; 6 To be able to know female statues which are dated to archaic period.; 7 To be able to know the statue group, - consisting of five male, five female - which are dedicated to Samos Heraion.; 8 To be able to know the statues of the treasury building which was built by Siphnians around 530-525 B.C.; 9 To be able to know the statue group -which are known Branchidae group in archaeological terminology - which are situated both sides of the sacred road between Didyma and Miletos.; 10 To be able to know the women and youth male statues which were sculptured in ancient West Anatolian cities.;
