19 Objective of the Course: This course aims to provide information to students about oral and written literary.

1 Knows the terms of Turkish culture.;
2 Identifies oral tradition.;
3 Identifies written tradition.;
4 Identifies the texts of oral tradition.;
5 Identifies the texts of written tradition.;
6 Interprets the text of both oral and written traditions.;
7 Utilizes the literary works of both traditions in Social Studies education.;

1 What are the terms of Turkish culture?
2 What are the products of oral and written tradition? What are oral and written literature?
3 Orkhon inscriptions
4 What are myths, epic and legend?
5 Creation myths.
6 Epic of Oğuz Kağan.
7 Epic of Ergenekon.
8 Epics of Dede Korkut.
9 Menakıb-names, velayetnames, gazavatnames etc.
10 Tales and tale studies.
11 Examples of Turkish folk poetry; mani, koşma, destan, türkü etc.
12 Examples of classical poetry.
13 Examples of new literature.
14 Riddles, proverbs etc.
