Public Administration (Without Thesis)
General Description
The master´s program of Public Administration is founded in 1982 within The Graduate School of Social Sciences. The name of the program was changed to "Political Science and Public Administration" in 2016.
Master´s program of Political Science and Public Administration is composed of four sub-fields. They are:
-Political and Social Sciences
-Administrative Sciences
-Urbanization and Environmental Problems
-Law.
The non-thesis graduate program of Political Science and Public Administration is subject to a system of 90 ECTS credits of workload. When the program is completed successfully, master´s degree is achieved in the field of Political Science and Public Administration.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Students who fulfill the below requirements are awarded with the non-thesis master´s degree in Political Science and Public Administration:
- To successfully complete at least five compulsory and five elective courses having a total number of 60 ECTS,
- Condition of success for the courses is to get a score of 70 over 100,
- To successfully deliver the term project.

Profile of The Programme
The aim of the non-thesis master´s program in Political Science and Public Administration is to provide especially the professionals with the opportunities for gaining expertise knowledge and developing skills in the fields of political and social sciences, administrative sciences, urbanization and environmental problems and law, which constitute the sub-departments of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration. Furthermore, the program targets to train professionals who can comprehend the main theoretical discussions in the above-mentioned fields, follow current affairs and adopt the perspective of critical and analytical thinking.
The duration of the non-thesis master’s program in Political Science and Public Administration is two years. In the first year of the program the students are offered compulsory and elective courses in the main fields of political and social sciences, administrative sciences, urbanization and environmental problems and law. The second year of the program is dedicated to the term projects of the students.

Being able to independently plan and carry out projects through building interdisciplinary linkages between the field of political science and public administration and other fields.

Being able to develop new strategic approaches through utilizing the interdisciplinary perspective and generate solutions by taking on responsibility in the practices related with political science and public administration.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Each student has to register for the classes at the beginning of the term, and she/ he has to attend at least 70% of the classes to be able to enter the final exam. Students are required to have at least one final exam in each term for each of the courses. Final exams are assessed over a total of 100. She/he must get a minimum of 70 as the final examination grade in the second cycle. A student is successful if she/he receives AA, BA, BB, CB and CC as the letter grade from a class.

Graduation Requirements
In order to successfully complete the program it is required that compulsory and elective courses having a total of 60 ECTS workload be passed and the term project (30 ECTS) be delivered.

The education language of the master´s program in Political Science and Public Administration is Turkish. There is a library, a reading room and a computer room with an open access to the students.
The teaching staff of the programme is comprised of 13 instructors including 5 professors, 3 associate professor, 4 assistant professors and 1 lecturer with a doctoral degree. Besides, there are 7 research assistants and 8 project assistants.
