General Description
Bursa University Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, which was established in 1976, was renamed Uludağ University Faculty of Engineering with a new structure in 1982, and with the decision to open the Department of Architecture in 1993, the name of the Faculty was changed to Uludağ University Faculty of Engineering-Architecture. As of the 2011-2012 academic year, there are eight departments within the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture. These; Departments of Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Textile Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Civil Engineering.
In the Department of Architecture, education began to be provided at the undergraduate level in the 1994-95 academic year, at the master´s level in the 2000-2001 academic year, and at the doctoral level in the second half of the 2005-2006 academic year. Educational studies continue as the Faculty of Architecture in 2013. As a result of the 2024-2025 education program, a total of 649 undergraduate, 75 graduate and 59 doctoral students are studying in the Department.
Architecture program is subjected to 90-120 ECTS credits in higher education. The Master´s Degree in Architecture program is awarded to the graduates who have seuccesfully completed all courses in the curriculum

Specific Admission Requirements
Specific Admission Requirements for M.Arch Degree:
-Candidates must have a Bachelor´s Degree in a field related to architecture
-Are required to take an exam called ALES (Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Exam), which is also administered by ÖSYM, and submit this score with their application.
-Must have the required level of English, German, French, Italian, Russian or Arabic languages by passing one of the examinations like UDS, KPDS, TOEFL or equivalents accepted by Higher Education Council
-Must be successful in the written exam or interview related to the field of architecture.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
The graduate program students should take a total of 21-24 credits (60 ECTS) which is not less than a minimum of seven courses, and should present and successfully pass a seminar and thesis work throughout their education. The students of Architecture Program who meet the relevant requirements are awarded an M. Arch degree. The necessary grade requirement for being successful in a course is 70 out of 100.

Profile of The Programme
The aim of the program is to equip students with necessary knowledge and skills for enabling them to associate / evaluate / synthesize knowledge of various fields in the framework of objective inquiry and principles of critical approach in architecture and architectural design within an interdisciplinary approach.

Graduates of Master´s Degree in Architecture program generally work in sectors outlined below:
Institutions subordinate to Municipalities and Ministry of Housing and Urban Development
Architectural, urban planning, engineering and building audit offices
Construction sites of the above-mentioned offices,

Construction departments in factories, etc.

Access to Further Studies
The graduates holding Master´s Degree are eligible to apply to PhD Degree programs at national level and / or international level both in the same and in related disciplines.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Each student should register courses at the beginning of the semestre. In order to enter final examination, students should attend min.%70 of the theoretical courses and min. %80 of the practical courses. Students should enter min. 1 mid-term exam and 1 final exam for each course. The grades of mid-term and final exams and other studies (term papers, quizes) throughout the semestre affect the final grade.

Graduation Requirements
Students must supply the conditions mentioned in the "Qualification Requirements and Regulations" part and they must successfully pass their M.Arch. Thesis Defense Exams.

As of the 2024-2025 academic year, the Department of Architecture has a young and dynamic staff consisting of 14 professors, 4 associate professors, 1 doctoral lecturer, 1 doctoral lecturer and 10 research assistants.
The Department of Architecture, which started its academic activities in 1994-95, served in the central building of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture and the Department of Environmental Engineering building until January 1998. After this date, it was moved to the Department of Architecture Building, which was officially opened on October 1, 1998. Designed as a three-storey building, the Department of Architecture Building consists of a closed area of ??3568 m2 (lower floor: 1428 m2, upper floor: 1200 m2; attic floor: 940 m2) and an open inner courtyard area of ??359 m2. On the ground floor of the Department of Architecture Building, there are 6 studio units; 3 research project rooms, 1 photocopy room, 1 TUBITAK research room, 1 seminar hall; There is 1 archive room, 1 laboratory, 1 student canteen and rooms of academic and administrative staff.
Department of Architecture started academic activities in 1994-95 and facilitated in the central building of Faculty of Engineering and Architecture and in the building of Environmental Engineering Department until January 1998. In October 1, 1998 the department began to facilitate in its own building officially. The building of Department of Architecture has three stories with 3568 sqm. enclosed area (ground floor: 1428 sqm, first floor: 1200 sqm; roof level: 940 sqm) and an interior open courtyard with 359 sqm. There are four studio spaces; one multi-purpose hall in roof level for seminars, workshops and exhibition activities; one computer laboratory; one material laboratory; one seminar hall; two classrooms; one room for archive; one room for community-use; one canteen and rooms of administrative and academic staff.
