Disaster Medicine Non-Thesis Master Program
General Description

Brief History
Disaster Medicine Master´s Program (without thesis) started its education and training activities in the 2020-2021 academic year and was founded within the Department of Emergency Medicine of Bursa Uludag University.
Master´s Program is carried out by 4 Professors, 1 Associate Professor and 2 Assistant Lecturers ( emergency medicine specialist)in the Department of Emergency Medicine.
With the Disaster Medicine Master´s program, it is aimed to standardize physicians´ approach to disasters, to provide fast and appropriate treatment in multiple trauma cases, to provide the most appropriate approach in environmental emergencies and other social issues.

Qualification Awarded
When the program is finished successfully and all the program qualifications are completed, a master´s degree in Disaster Medicine is achieved.

Specific Admission Requirements
Candidates must have a graduation degree from medical faculty. Foreign language degree is not required.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
In order to complete the non-thesis master´s program in disaster medicine, it is necessary to complete all the compulsory and elective courses and to get at least 70 out of 100 as a grade point average.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Graduates could find work in various universities in academic positions, on-field disaster units and non-governmental organizations.

Access to Further Studies
Graduates can continue their doctoral programs at other universities, but our department does not have a disaster medicine doctoral program yet.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Exams of the program can be done in written, written-oral or applied form. Exam documents and results are sent to the relevant institute within five working days via the department head. The main principles of course success: a) To be able to take the exam from sample courses in graduate programs; 70% attendance is required for theoretical courses and 80% for applied courses. Exams are evaluated with points given out of 100. In order to be successful, it is necessary to get at least 70 points out of 100 in master´s programs with thesis. Letter grade and coefficient equivalents of sample scores out of 100 are as follows: Letter Grade Coefficient Score AA 4.00 90-100 BA 3.50 85-89 BB 3.00 80-84 CB 2.50 75-79 CC 2.00 70-74 F 0-69 b) About the principles 100 In the evaluation of the points examined through letter grades; Students who get AA, BA, BB, CB and CC grades in master´s programs are considered successful in that course.

Graduation Requirements
Graduation from the non-thesis master´s program in disaster medicine is at the end of three semesters with the completion of at least 90 ECTS. The term project must be completed in the third semester.
