General Description
Fashion Design programme of Design Department in Vocational School of Technical Sciences was established in 2019 to train up technicians for the field of fashion design.
This program is subject to the 120 ECTS credits first stage degree system in the field of Fashion Design in higher education. Upon successfully completion of the qualification requirements of the associate degree program, students are awarded by the title of Fashion Design Technician.

Specific Admission Requirements
Candidates must have high school diploma and enough score from YGS-Higher Education Transition Examination.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
In order to graduate from Fashion Design Program and to get the title of Fashion Design technician and associate degree, students must successfully complete all of the compulsory and elective courses (totally equivalent to120 ECTS) and 30 work days sector-based internship. Overall grade point average must be at least 2.00 on 4.00 scale.

Profile of The Programme
The aim of this program is to educate and train qualified human resources who are professionalised about the fashion art, fashion design, fashion production and management, and who are equipped with related technical knowledge.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Graduates of the Fashion Design program can work as stylists, modelists and designers in textile factories and workshops, ready-to-wear, textile export companies, private enterprises, fashion houses.

Access to Further Studies
Candidates who have completed associate degree training can study bachelor’s degree programs if they get a desired grade from DGS (vertical transfer exam) and if they are placed by ÖSYM (Student Selection and Placement Centre).

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
It is applied in accordance with the 32nd article of the Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education Regulation taken by the BUÜ Senate decision.

Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate, students must successfully complete all of compulsory and elective courses (120 ECTS), must achieve the overall grade point at least 2.0 on 4.0 scale and must finish the final project.
