Brief History
Laboratory and Veterinary Health program was opened in Yenisehir İbrahim Orhan M.Y.O in 2012-2013 education year.

Qualification Awarded
Laboratory and Veterinary Health program consists of two years of pre-Bsc and 120 hours of ECTS (European Credit Transfer System). When the program is successfully completed and the program requirements are met, students can obtain a pre-Bsc degree

Specific Admission Requirements
Candidates must have a higher school diploma or an equivalent school diploma and have enough points in YGS 2 (Entrance to Higher Education Exam) ; or they can pass without exam, thanks to their right of transfer , from vocational schools to their related branches at universities.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
In order to get pre-Bsc degree at Laboratory and Veterinary Health Program, the total of compulsory and elective hours of the lessons must be the equivalent of 120 ECTS and fully succeeded . The cumulative grade point average must be at least 2.0 out 4.00.

Profile of The Programme
The aim of Laboratory and Veterinary Health Program is to raise labor power who will have theoretical and practical knowledge in the area of Animal Health and Laboratory. These graduated students will also be able to work under the title of “Laborant and Assistant Veterinary Technician” in Laboratories and Livestock industry.

1. Having the ability of using the laboratory equipment regularly and being able to use them effective in laboratories.
2. To apply laboratory hygiene and security consciously.
3. To take and process examples of microbiological, biochemical, parasitological, pathological and feed and to apply required tests
4. To apply hygiene, care and health services having assistant veterinary in special veterinary clinics,animal hospitals. and farms
5. To apply preventive steps from epizootiological, infectious and zoonotic diseases.
6. To supply protective maintanance matter of substance of farm animals for reproduction performance, mammary gland and foot health and to inform veterinary in time .
7. To Increase the farming performance, providing of animal welfare
8. To take preventive measures and inform the veterinarian about the major problems of animals, fertility, breast and foot health issues
9. To apply care and correct nutrition for animals.
10. To apply right treatment procedure of proposed task of veterinary
11. Being able to acquire skill for entering programming, recording, and documentation in in the field of Animal Health and Laboratories.
12. Having self confidence of taking responsibility as individuals and having the skill of working efficiently in multidisciplinary teams.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Graduate students can be employed as “ Laborant and Assistant Veterinary” ; in Livestock Farms , Animal Hospitals, Veterinary Special Clinics , General Directorate of Agriculture Enterprise, Agriculture Ministry of Province and County, Feed factories, Veterinary Laboratories , Zoo, Veterinary Drug Company, Veterinary Health and Care Product Company

Access to Further Studies
Graduate students ,having successfully completed their pre-Bsc degree, can pass directly to a Bsc degree program in department of “ Veterinary Faculty” in condition that they get enough points at DGS (Vertical Passage Exam) organised by OSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center).

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Each student must have attended at least 70 % of the lessons and 80 % of the practice so that they can enter final exams. Students must have for each school subject at least 1 mid-term exam and final exam. Mid-term exam has an influence of 40 % and 60 % of final exam to calculate the final grade. (Mid-term exam grade can be calculated through the points of homework, lab exam, quiz, etc..).All exams are evaluated out of 100 points. Students must have at least 30 points out of 100 at mid-term final exam. Students are considered successful when they get AA, BA, BB, CB, and CC from the exams. DC and DD are considered conditionally successful grade. A student must have ,at least, an accumulative grade point average of 2.0 to be considered successful at a subject of which they get DC and DD grades.

Graduation Requirements
In order to complete a program successfully, students must pass all the courses included in the program with 120 AKTS , which is equal to ,at least, an accumulative grade point average of 2.0 out of 4.00

Facilities
In the program, 1 Dr.Lecturer and 2 lecturers are working. There is a feed analysis laboratory and a food laboratory in our school.
