Curriculum and Instruction
General Description
Curriculum and Instruction Master´s Program is under the Department of Educational Sciences within the Institute of Educational Sciences. In the program, there are compulsory courses that include foundational knowledge about the curriculum and instruction area, and elective courses related to different research topics of this area. In addition, compulsory and elective courses related to scientific research processes are offered to students of the program. Although the courses mainly have theoretical content, an important part of this content consists of practical information and turns into practice with processes such as seminar and thesis. Curriculum and Instruction master´s program started to accept students in the 1999-2000 academic year. Curriculum and Instruction Master´s Program has 2 Professors, 2 Associate Professor and 1 Assistant Professor as faculty members
In successful completion of the program requirements, one receives the degree of master in Curriculum and Instruction.

Specific Admission Requirements
1-Applicants of the Master program must be a graduate of any related field., 2 -must have obtained standard score from Academic Staff and Graduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES). 3- must have the required competence of English

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
One receives Master Degree in GPC upon successful completion of a 28- credit course work of theory, seminar, area specialty and thesis (equal to 120 ECTS in total), with a GPA of 70 over 100, and successfully defending a master´s thesis in front of a jurry

Profile of The Programme
The aim of the Curriculum and Instruction Master´s Program is to train specialist personnel who can provide services in the fields of program development and program evaluation in various fields where educational programs and teaching services are needed, equipped with theoretical and applied knowledge and skills, and who will contribute to scientific developments in the field. In this context, the objectives of the master´s program are to carry out applications for program development and program evaluation between courses, and to carry out development and evaluation studies in thesis studies. At the same time, it is aimed to prepare students for doctoral education at the same.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Graduates of the Curriculum and Instruction Master´s Program have taken a critical and concrete step forward in their professional development. Since, a significant portion of the incoming students are teachers in the public sector. This concrete step has an more important meaning in the teaching profession law that is coming into force. In addition, obtaining a master´s degree in Curriculum and Instruction in addition to any undergraduate graduate is preferred for private education institutions as it will contribute to the planning of education and training processes both for the classroom and at the school level. Apart from these, graduates - with the title of Curriculum and Instruction - can take part in positions such as consultancy, coordinator, program developer in private education institutions and public and non-governmental organizations related to education.

Access to Further Studies
Holders of Curriculum and Instruction Master degrees can apply for PhD programs with relevant score of ALES (Graduate Study Matriculation Exam) and relevant score of English as a foreign language

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Students are required to register to courses and attend at least 70 % of theoretical and 80 % of practical courses in order to be eligible for taking the final exams. Students take final exams for each course at the end of the semester. Scores gained via evaluative methods such as projects, laboratory exams, quizzes etc. can count for midterm exam scores. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. A score of 70 is required for the final exams. AA, BA, BB, CB and CC grades are regarded as successful.

Graduation Requirements
In order to complete the program, they must take all the courses (120 ECTS credits in total) having 2,00 general average grades out of 4.00 on the core subjects and are to be successful in the Seminar course and Master’s thesis defense.

Students of Curriculum and Instruction Master’s Program have the right to access all campus facilities (library, food court, dormitories, sports facilities, student clubs etc.) besides faculty library and computer laboratories.
