Brief History
Dual Degree project for Vocational Schools was started by YOK in 2009 aims to increase Vocational Schools’ attractiveness. In this project, Uludag University-Vocational School of Technical Sciences (UUVSTS) in Mechanical Engineering / Machine Technology and Production Engineering / Automotive Technology programs have been involved with. In the frame of this project, Dual Diploma Associate Programme Protocol were signed between Havering College and City College Brighton and Hove from England in 2010. In the same year, both programs have been accredited by Edexcel. In this model, after the preparatory English language class the students study at UUVSTS in the first year and they study in the second year in partner schools in the UK.

Profile of The Programme
The International Joint Associate Degree Program for a double degree is an associate degree program run jointly by a Turkish university and a college abroad. A student who successfully completes the program receives an approved diploma from both institutions (or a joint diploma of the Pearson Edexcel Accreditation institution representing both institutions). The student who successfully completes the "Production Engineering/Automotive Technology" program for the "Associate degree / BTEC HND" diploma conducted by Uludağ University Vocational School of Technical Sciences (UÜTBMYO) and Havering College, City College Brighton and Hove in England is entitled to receive a double diploma.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
In the programs within the scope of Edexcel, competencies for each course and learning outcomes according to these competencies are determined. Students must meet the minimum pass criteria for the learning outcomes determined for each course. For example, if a student has 12 pass criteria for a course and does not meet the P9 criterion, in other words, if he/she is not successful in P9, he/she cannot pass this course. However, if the student wishes, he can request an additional right for this missing Pass criterion. This process is called second right ´resubmission´. In addition to the minimum passing criteria, if they meet the Good (Merit) passing criteria (M1, M2, M3), they will pass this course with Merit. If students meet the Distinction passing criteria and receive these grades, they will pass this course with Distinction (D1, D2 and D3). The examination system of the courses has some differences from the classical examination system. The commonly applied system is in the form of homework and projects. Instructors must prepare assignment plans for each course at the beginning of the semester. Homework plan; including the name of the course, the number of assignments, compulsory passing criteria (Pass, P1, P2, ….) to meet the learning outcomes, good (Merit, M1, M2, M3) and very good (Distinction, D1, D2 and D3). has to.
12
Graduation Requirements
At the graduation of the students, the student´s diploma degree is determined by the calculation made by taking the best 5 courses. If the course passing grade is ´Pass´, the weighting score is 0, if the passing grade is ´Merit´, the weighting score is 1, and if the passing grade is ´Distinction´, the weighting multiplier is 2. For example: Let the student´s top 5 courses be selected and 3 courses be ´Distinction´, 1 course is ´Merit´ and 1 course is ´Pass´. The weight score is multiplied by the credits of the course and the grand total is taken. Course credits are generally 15. According to this example, the calculation is made as follows: 3x2x15=90 1x1x15=15 1x0x15=0 When we take the totals, it is found to be 105. If the total number obtained with the weight factors of 5 courses; If the student´s diploma score is between 0-74, it is ´Pass´ ´Merit´ between 75-149 If it is 150, the diploma degree is determined as ´Distinction´.
