19 Objective of the Course: To enhance students’ knowledge on issues such as economic life, economic thought and capitalism, by analysing the cultural, moral and mental factors affecting those concepts.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To learn the impact of beleifs on economic behaviour and culture.;
2 To learn the various economic mentalities across different cultures with their historical backround.;
3 To be able to observe the economic outcomes stemming from the interactions between beleifs, culture and mentality.;
4 To recognize the economic mentalities and elements effecting those mentalities in European, Eastern and Islamic societies during the medieval era.;
5 To recognize the economic mentalities and elements effecting those mentalities in European, Eastern and Islamic societies in later stages of history.;
6 To explore the relations between various belief systems and economic structures with a comperative view.;
7 To gain extensive knowledge about capitalism.;
8 To learn the varieties and stages of capitalism. ;
9 To gain knowledge concerning concepts such as post-modern capitalism, consumer society and the new enterpreneur.;
10 To observe the impact of religion on the development of economic thought.;
