19 Objective of the Course: To make known and recognized the basic characteristics and constituent elements of ancient philosophy by the students; to get access the classical texts with a dialectic and dialogic examination. To make the students learn both hellenic and hellenistic philosophy

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Learn the fundamental elements of ancient philosophy;
2 Comprehend the birth of natural philosophy as a transition from muthos to logos;
3 Divide ancient philosophy into Hellenic and Hellenistic thought;
4 Read and Examine the basic works of Helenic philosophy;
5 Understand the thoughts of both Socrates and Sophists ;
6 Examine the basic works of Plato and Aristote;
7 Recognize and Learn tbe most important philosophical schools of Hellenistic period;
8 Learn and understand the thoughts of Roman philosophers;
