19 Objective of the Course: Introducing the history of Hellenistic Age and civilization. Additionally, definition of the geography on which the Hellenistic cultural features can be observed. And explaining the general features of the architecture of the period, rising concepts, important architectures and their works in detailed

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Understanding a history and chronology of the Hellenistic Period . ;
2 Recognizing Hellenistic Kingdoms and their range and geography. ;
3 To realize more early buildings which effected to Hellenistic Period Architecture;
4 To recognize the Architects, who had worked in the Hellenistic Period and their works. ;
5 To comprehend the systems of room arrangement in the Hellenistic period;
6 To be able to understand the section of building and its proportion and symmetry rule. ;
7 To be able to investigate the reasons of the increasing of the private buildings in the Hellenistic Period.;
8 To be able to understand new architectural trends and mixed orders in the Hellenistic architecture ;

1 History of the Hellenistic Culture, Geography of Hellenistic States.
2 General features of Hellenistic Period Architecture.
3 Historical events and chronology of construction from Anatolia in 3rd and 2nd millennium.
4 Gymnasium Architecture and importance examples.
5 Hermogenes and his works: the temple of Zeus Sosipolis in Magnesia and Artemis Temples.
6 The temple of Apollo Smintheus
7 The holy area of Lagina Hecate
8 The holy area of Lagina Hecate
9 Bouleuterion architecture and examples
10 Stadium architecture and examples
11 Agora architecture and examples
12 Grave architecture in the Hellenistic Period.
13 Proportion and symmetry in the Hellenistic period architecture.
