19 | Objective of the Course: | To show the student by the help of selected texts from classical tafsir sources that the Qur’ân is not only “a holy book”, the exegetes are not “only interpreters of a holy book”, and tafsir works are not “only interpretation of the Qur’an”, in contrast, that the Qur’an “is the core” of a 14-century culture and civilisation, Muslim exegetes are “the catalysts” which have brought “this core” and the “human culture” that emerged and developed thoroughout the time with their rich knowledge and method by using different approaches, various methods and technics, thus they made maybe the greatest contribution to the formation of Islamic civilisation. |
