19	Objective of the Course:	To show the student by the help of selected texts from classical tafsir sources that the Qur’ân is not only “a holy book”, the exegetes are not “only interpreters of a holy book”, and tafsir works are not “only interpretation of the Qur’an”, in contrast, that the Qur’an “is the core” of a 14-century culture and civilisation, Muslim exegetes are “the catalysts” which have brought “this core” and the “human culture” that emerged and developed thoroughout the time with their rich knowledge and method by using different approaches,various methods and technics,thus they made maybe the greatest contribution to the formation of Islamic civilisation.

Learning Outcomes:

1	Get to know the Classical Tafsirs in terms of their kinds, sources and subjects.;
2	Study the works of Tafsir bi-l-Riwaya (by transmission) in terms of their method and content.;
3	Recognize the sources of Tafsir bi-l-Riwaya.;
4	Study the works of Tafsir bi-l-Diraya (by interpretation) in terms of their method and content.;
5	Discover the differences and the similarities between Tafsirs bi-l-Riwaya and Tafsirs bi-l-Diraya.;
6	Recognize the sources of Tafsir bi-l-Diraya.;
7	Get a deep knowledge about the culture of Classical Tafsir.;
8	Get to know the kinds of Tafsir bi-l-Diraya.;
9	Build strong bridges between the Classic and the Modern.;
10	Improve the right ideas valid for nowadays.;
