19 Objective of the Course: Understanding of ornamentation in Turkish Islamic art, and types of motifs and places where they are used, historical development of the symbols, Ability of analyzing the changes and their causes in the perception of ornamentation during the historical context.

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Understanding the basic features and frame of Islamic art;
2 Analyzing the reasons that make up the sub- branches of Islamic arts;
3 Understanding the influence of pre-Islamic art comprehension of Turks on their post-Islamic art activities.;
4 Ability of examining the origins of motifs used in Turkish Islamic art.;
5 Ability of recognizing the reasons of abstract (surrealist) work in Turkish Islamic art.;
6 Ability of determining the place of the floral motifs of ornamentation arts between realism and surrealism;;
7 Understanding of the mentality on basis of geometric motifs used in Islamic art;
8 Knowing the embellishment fields used in Turkish ornamentation arts.;
9 Ability of solving the relationship between the motifs and the ornamentation area in the concept of Turkish ornamentationart.;
10 Ability of analyzing the changes in the perception of motifs and symbols in the historical process;;
