19	Objective of the Course:	To enable prospective teachers to comprehend the concept of citizenship as both an identity and a political status within its historical development and its relation with political and social life, to develop positive attitude and values towards citizenship rights and duties, and to achive cognitive outcomes oriented citizenship education in primary education.

Learning Outcomes:

3	To be able to define citizenship and its related concepts;
4	Knowledge of the historical development of citizenship from before the Republic to present;
5	To be able to correlate citizenship, democracy and human rights;
6	To be able to understand the importance of participatory and active citizenship;
7	Knowledge on the main forms of state;
8	Knowledge on the main forms of government's sysyems;
9	Knowledge of citizenship rights and duties in Turkey according to current constitutional law;
10	To be able to conceive the importance and framework of citizenship education;
