19 Objective of the Course: To grasp the foundation and historical development of history of religions as a modern discipline, To absorb the pioneers’ approaches in this field, To apply these approaches into academic studies today, To develop new approaches and theories.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 The student gets high knowledge about religious studies and especially history of religions.;;
2 He knows the western pioneers of history of religions, and learns their basic opinions and approaches.;;
3 He improves his ability of foreign languages in order to use the primary sources of the field and to make his academic studies more qualified.;;
4 He manages to approach the matters of history of religions analytically through modern methods.;;
5 Now that he absorbs the main approaches of the historians of religions, he can do distinctive studies in his field.;;
6 He can make comparisons among the various approaches of western scholars, and evaluate them.;;
7 He can make some comparisons between modern studies on history of religions and early Muslim studies on the same area.;;
8 He can apply any method which is in use in the history of religions into his academic studies or develop a new method.;;
9 He follows ethical principles in his study and shares his information with community.;;
10 He contributes his study-field, attends national and international organizations on religions.;;
