19 Objective of the Course: The aim of this course is to give the students a philosophical vision upon the concept of history.

1 Introduction to philosophy;
2 To identify the scope and topics of philosophy of history ;
3 To recognize the problems of philosophy of history;
4 To introduce the solutions of the philosophers regarding the problem of history.;
5 Thinking in an abstract, rational and critical way.;
6 Learning the philosophical approach regarding the current problems of history.;
7 Gaining a critical reasoning ability.;

1 Introduction to the philosophy of history with the context of the question “What is philosophy?”
2 Explaining the subjects and methods of philosophy of history.
3 Explaining the subjects and problems of classic philosophy of history.
4 Explaining the conceptions of history in Ancient era.
5 Explaining the conceptions of history in Middle Age.
6 Explaining the conceptions of history in modern philosophy
7 Explaining the conceptions of history in 19th. Century philosophy.
8 Explaining the conceptions of history in 20th. Century philosophy.
9 Explaining the contemporary philosohy of history.
10 Analyzing Edward Carr’s book “What is History?”
11 Evaluation over Collingwood’s conception of history
12 Evaluation over Keith Jenkins’ conception of history
13 Looking in a philosophical manner to the problems of history in our age.
