19 Objective of the Course: The aim of the course is to understand and discuss the effects of the concepts of city and culture and their relationships for architecture. To be conscious about the importance of architecture for the city culture.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To understand the necessity of physical and socio-cultural factors and the relationship between them for architectural and urban design. ;
2 To gain the ability of using the relationships of physical and socio-cultural environment factors in design of especially housing areas. ;
3 To handle the architectural and urban design problems in a holistic and integrative approach. ;

1 The binary concepts of city and culture,architecture and space. Their roles and importance for everyday lives.
2 Definition of the concept of culture together with its compounds and its development throughout history
3 Definition and the analysis of the building stock generating the space of the city

5 Investigating and discussion of phenomena affecting the development of the cities and urban spaces
6 Discussion of the effects of socio-cultural factors for the development of cities
