19 Objective of the Course: The main objective of this course is to introduce the students to some of the main problems and thinkers in postmodern philosophy.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Student examine, analyse and explain of what modernism is, what postmodernism is, what nihilism is, how these philosophical movements have arisen, and how they relate to one another;
2 Student gains an understanding the general features of what is called ‘postmodern thinking’.;
3 Student gains an understanding the philosophical concerns that have given rise to this new way of thinking.;
4 Student gains an understanding the problematics and concepts central to the thinking of each postmodern philosopher.;
5 Student gains a detailed knowledge of postmodern theory and practice.;
6 Student gains an understanding of the ways in which postmodern performance texts and works relate to pertinent social, historical, intellectual, and theoretical contexts.;
7 Students will acquire the theoretical background for furthering researches in different areas of modern and postmodern culture.;
8 Students recognize and understand how the postmodern approach is applied to history and other academic disciplines.;
9 Student recognize and understand how postmodern thinkers apply radical hermeneutical and deconstructive reading on religious texts.;
10 Student gains ability to understand and discuss the contemporary ethical and political concepts such as identitiy and difference, totality, otherness and ontological imperialism.;
