19 Objective of the Course: To examine the history and theology of Protestantism and Evangelical Christianity, by tracing the history of modern evangelicalism from its roots in the Protestant Reformation and the transatlantic awakenings of the 18th century through to the present. Along the way, we cover colonial America and religion in the new nation, evangelical reform in the nineteenth century, the clash between fundamentalists and modernists, holiness and Pentecostal movements, looking at Evangelical Christian approach to Israel, Christian Zionism, and End Times.

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Students will become acquainted with various aspects of the history of Protestantism and Evangelical Movements.;
2 Students will learn basic knowledge of key figures, events, movements, and intellectual thought central to evangelicalism.;
3 Students will learn about the theology of Evangelical Christianity.;
4 Students will develop critical understanding of contemporary Evangelical mission in relation to Israel.;
5 Students will be able to develop skills in reading and thinking critically, working with a variety of primary and secondary materials, writing with clarity and purpose, and discussing and debating in a respectful and rigorous manner.;
