19 Objective of the Course: To help students comprehend and be knowledgeable about the debates on the manifestations of the relationship between religion and society in Modern Turkey

1 Students will learn the processes of change from the Ottoman society to the Modern Turkish society;
2 Students comprehend the fundamental perspective of Modern republic of religion;
3 Students will be knowledgeable about official and unofficial organization of religion;
4 Students will learn the debates about the perspective of the Turkish elite on religion;
5 Students will learn the strategies developed by religion to protect itself;
6 Students can participate in the debates about the relationship between religion and society in Turkey;
