19 Objective of the Course: The goal in offering this course is to enable students to explore handmade paper as a fine art medium. This course aims to introduce the students to basic skills and processes used in various hand papermaking traditions and contemporary artistic practices. Investigation of papermaking by hand as it relates to printmaking, drawing, and sculpture.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development It supports the formation of people who can produce versatile.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Recognizes paper materials and types.;
2 Explains all stagesof paper making process.;
3 Discusses the impact of material selection to the results. ;
4 Uses self produced paper in art works.;
5 Uses the paper in the context of collage/assemblage relations.;
6 Applies the techniques and methods of making paper from cotton.;
7 Solves the problems faced in the process of papermaking.;
8 Gains the ability to produce a unique paper by using different materials.;
22 Course Content:
Week Theoretical Practical
1 Paper and paper types in the process of history Provision of appropriate materials for selected examples.
2 Papermaking and investigation of papermaking process Determination methods for study phases
3 Papermaking from cotton Preparation of cottons.
4 Identification of the problems during the study period and determination of the solutions Preparation of cotton fibers.
5 Different approaches to making cotton paper. Compression of prepared dough
6 Finalisation of the work and evaluation Cooking of pre-compressed dough
7 Preparation to project Production of a Unique Paper by Using Different Papers. Preparation of materials for study
8 Preparation to project Production of a Unique Paper by Using Different Papers. Preparation of materials for study
9 Determination of the project stages. Separation of paper into small pieces.
10 Analyzing the samples Making pulp the paper
11 Stage of grinding paper Sieving the dough .
12 Stage of melting paper Compression of the dough and molding
