Learning Outcomes:

1	To help students develop an understanding of the historically characteristics of 19th century Turkish Modernization.;
2	To understand and evaluate correctly Three major Edicts (Tanzimat, Islahat and Meşrutiyet) in the 19th century.;
3	Understands and evaluates Philosophical Movements in 19th Century Turkish Thought.;
4	Students will be able to read and understand the biographies and ideas of thinkers of the Republican era and take critical approaches.;
5	Students makes predictions and explanations about the future of 21st century Turkish philosophy and thought.;
