19 Objective of the Course: To get the ability to read, understand and evaluate epigraphic materials of Islamic civilization such as inscription, tombstone and sheet etc.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development It will contribute to the formation of historical awareness.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 The ability to understand the difference between the written or carved writings on material and inscriptions in other areas. ;;
2 The ability to evaluate how the art of determining the date reflected on inscriptions. ;;
3 The ability to analyze the subject of date in the inscriptions by grasping the numerological account (Ebced).;;
4 The ability to understand the writing styles in inscriptions and differences between them.;
5 The ability to comprehend non-text elements in the epigraphic texts.;;
6 The ability to develop reading and writing the inscriptions (mosque).;;
7 The ability to develop reading and writing the inscriptions (shrine).;;
8 The ability to develop reading and writing the inscriptions (tombstones).;
9 The ability to develop reading and writing the inscriptions (fountains).;;
10 The ability to develop reading and writing the inscriptions (seals).;;

1 The concept of epigraphy and its relations to the other close fields.
2 The importance of epigraphy in the local history research.
3 The reading methods of epigraphic texts.
4 Non-text elements in the epigraphic texts.
5 The numerological account (ebced) and its importance in the epigraphic texts.
6 Calligraphy examples of Ottoman period.
7 Calligraphy examples of the republican period.
8 Inscriptions in Ottoman mosques.
9 Inscriptions in Ottoman tombs.

12 The fountain inscriptions.

14 The seals of qadi.
