19 Objective of the Course: Making the students attain the knowledge about the history, deontology and the process of professionalization of Nursing/Midwifery; making them adopt the professional ethical principles and teaching them the contemporary roles, old and new legislations and regulations regarding the profession. Observing the the benefit of man and society as a discipline within the framework of the general laws and the rules and principles of the moral values of health sciences
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development Lesson is to aim the ability of nurses to cope with the ethical problems they encounter while providing health services.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To learn the process of historical development of Nursing and both in the world and in Turkey and know the pioneers and events that contributed to this process, and to be able to interpret the effects of the religions on this process;
2 To have information about the definition of the profession, the process of professionalisation;
3 To explain the contemporary role and responsibilities of nurses is expected .;
4 To have knowledge of basic ethical principles of medicine, scientific research and publication ethics;
5 To learn about of human rights and patients' rights;
6 To know the resolve ethical dillemma of contemporary ethical issues related to medical interventions and care ;
7 To develop the ability makeing the ethical decision when encountered in special cases;
8 To know basic professional values ;
9 To comment the ability within of ethical values in nurse-patient relationship;
10 To gain the ability basic ethical professional rules of ethics from medical applications in the problem areas. ;
