19 Objective of the Course: The objective of the course is to teach nurse candidates the basic pharmacological principles as well as names, mechanism of actions and adverse effects of drugs that are used in various human diseases
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development To enable the student to comprehend the pharmacological properties of drugs, application methods theoretically, drug effects, toxic effects and the concept of drug-antidote in case of poisoning.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To able to explain the basic concepts of pharmacology, pharmacokinetcs and pharmacodynamcis terms;
2 To compare pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic drug interactions;
3 To be able to describe the pharmaceutical forms of drugs To be able to explain the drug administration routes;
4 To be able to explain the absorption of drugs;
5 To be able to explain the distribution of drugs;
6 To be able to describe the metabolism of drugs;
7 To be able to explain the clearance of drugs;
8 To be able to describe the effects of drugs To be able to define the side effects of drugs;
9 To be able to define interactions between drugs To be able to explain the toxicity of drugs;
10 Evaluating drug and substance addiction To be able to compare addiction types;
