19 Objective of the Course: The main objective of the course is to address the emergence and dynamics of regional development disparities and to analyse the policies in order to diminish these disparities in our country.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development Students who take the course will gain the ability to understand the reasons for the emergence of regional development differences and to analyze politically.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Students acquire an understanding of the theoretical foundations of regional economics and development.;
2 Students are expected to be able to describe why and for what means do regional development disparities exist between places, regions, cities, and nations.;
3 Students should be able to explain location decisions of firms ;
4 Students are expected to be able to analyze the main factors affecting regional development;
5 Students should be able to interpret the rationale behind goverment intervention to retrench regional development disparities.;
6 Students should be able to learn the emergence and dynamics of regional development disparities in Turkey.;
7 Students are expected to be able to know how regional development policies of Turkey are implemented and what are the economic justifications behind them.;
8 Students are expected to be able to interpret the effects of regional development policies in Turkey.;
9 Students should be able to compare EU regional policies with Turkey.;
10 Students are expected to be able to acquire and evaluate different alternatives and solutions to regional economic problems.;
