19 Objective of the Course: The purpose of this course is to give information to students about money and capital market instruments and institutions; and to improve students’ ability of interpretation and analysis on these topics. It is also aimed that students will be equipped with the knowledge for portfolio selection, portfolio management and investment evaluation through theoretical methodologies.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development Following and evaluating the global and national developments related to money and capital markets and making optimal financial decisions.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To be able to distinguish the differences between money, capital and derivatives markets.;
2 To be able to explain the difference between real asset and financial assets.;
3 To be able to analyze and interpret the national and international developments and events in the financial markets.;
4 To be able to harmonize the therotical information with current developments in financial markets;
5 To be able to interpret the risks faced by intitutions in the financial markets.;
6 To have the efficiency and capability to work in the financial institutions.;
7 To be able to provide solutions for the financial problems of the enterprises.;

2 Elements and functioning of the financial system, money and capital markets.
3 Money market instruments.
4 Capital markets instruments.
5 Public offering of securities and trading on the stock exchange.
6 Stock Excahnge, Borsa Istanbul and Capital Markets Board of Turkey.
7 Concept of yield and risk in financial markets, systematic and unsystematic risks.
8 Fundamental and technical analysis approaches.
9 Diversification and portfolio management concept.
10 Investment funds.
11 Investment trusts.
12 Measuring portfolio performance.
13 Other financial institutions and central bank.
14 Concept and types of financial crisis.
