19 Objective of the Course: The aim of this course is to introduce Turkish teacher candidates to the general characteristics of the novel genre and the Turkish novel, its stages and novel analysis methods with sample novels.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development This course is expected to contribute to Turkish teacher candidates in terms of evaluating literary works, revealing their successful and unsuccessful aspects, and developing a sense of empathy through reading novels.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Can explain the functions and qualities of the novel as an educational tool.;
2 Can use basic sources related to novel history and novel analysis.;
3 Can define basic concepts about the novel such as subject, point of view, event, fiction, type and character.;
4 Understands the conditions of the emergence of the novel in the West and Turkish literature.;
5 Can apply novel analysis methods.;
6 Knows the structural features of the Turkish novel of the Republican Period.;
