20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development To get general information about the Turkish Sufi culture
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To gain the ability to comprehend the effects of mysticism on the cultures throughout the history.;
2 To improve the knowledge about the sufi movements that emerged throughout the History of Islam providing information about the effects of sufism on societies.;
3 To learn and assess the knowledge about the effects of the Sufism on the branches as the culture, social sciences and the art.;
4 Introducing the sources and resources, to gain a research method on this subject for who wants to research.;
5 To comprehend the contributions of the sufism to the history of Turkish culture.;
6 To learn the effects of the sufism and sufi religious orders on the history of turkish culture.;
7 Understanding the role of the Akhis (Ahi) organization on tradesman guilds.;
8 Understanding the difference between mezhep (madhab) and tarikât (religious order);

2 Sources of the Sufism
3 Emergence of the religous orders (tarikat)
4 Spreading of the sufism among the Turks
5 The religious orders (tarikat) emerging in Central Asia (Yesevî)
6 The religious orders (tarikat) emerging in Central Asia (Kazerunî, Naqshbandi)
7 The religious orders (tarikat) emerging in Anatolia (Bektashis)
8 midterm exam and course evaluation
9 Religious orders (tarikat) and Sufism in Ottoman Empire
10 Religious orders (tarikat) and Sufism in Bursa
11 Sufi institutions (Dergâh, Tekke, Zaviye etc.)
12 The mechanism of dervish convents and its social functions.
