19 Objective of the Course: To give knowledge about the Rightly Guided Caliphs in undergraduate level, and point of view to analyze the reasons and consequences of the events occurred in this period.

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 The ability to understand the importance and place of period of Hulafa-yi Raşidin in the history of Islam.;
2 The ability to realize the situation that occurred after the death of Prophet Muhammed in the Arabian Peninsula.;
3 The ability to compare political, military and social practices of the four caliphs.;
4 The ability to analyze the emergence of new developments in the period of four caliphs/during the four caliphs.;
5 The ability to explain the reasons for the emergence of different views and madhaps in the period of four caliphs/during the four caliphs.;
6 The ability to make analogy between some of nowadays/today’s events and developments of the period of foru caliphs.;
7 The ability to produce independent ideas about applications of the four caliphs.;
8 The ability to recognize the classical and modern sources about period of the four caliphs.;
9 The ability to critique the modern approaches about the period of the four caliphs by using the scientific methods.;
10 The ability to evaluate about the position and functions of the caliphate institution during the four caliphs.;

Week Theoretical Practical
1 Election of Abu Bakr to Caliphate
2 The causes and consequences of ridde and rebel movements which occurred shortly before the death of the Prophet Muhammed.
3 The start of military expeditions on Byzantine and Sassanid Empire
4 Election of Omar to Caliphate and conquests during his rign.
5 Conquests of Damascus and Egypt during the period of Caliph Omar.
6 Institutionalization activities during the period of Caliph Omar.
7 Etaplishing centers of civilization during the period of Caliph Omar.
8 Election of Uthman to caliphate.
9 Conquests during the period of Caliph Uthman.
10 Activities of Caliph Uthman and points which were criticized and incidents of fitna.
11 Murder of Caliph Uthman.
12 Election of Ali to caliphate and Battle of Jamal.
13 Struggle between Caliph Ali and Muaviyah and Battle of Siffin.
14 Incident of arbitration, the Kharijites and murder of Caliph Ali.
