19 Objective of the Course: To teach the importance and basic rules of selection breeding and breeding of fruit species by selection
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development Gains detailed information about selection breeding of fruit species and parameters of selection. Students apply the knowledge learned in this course in their professional life.

1 The definition, important and advantages of selection breeding
2 Biodiversity in the world and Turkey and the origine of fruit species
3 Genetic variability, genetic resources, collection and preservation,the agronomic and genetic characterization of genetic resource
4 The determination of selection objectives and characteristics,the genotype selection for evaluation in population
5 Taking the fruit samples,the determination of physical and chemical properties of fruit samples,the methods of measures
6 The determination of morphological and phenological properties of trees
7 The evaluation of characteristics according to weighted ranked method
8 The determination, propagation and adaptation of promising genotypes and release it for commercial production
9 The selection works in nut fruits in Turkey and breeding characteristics
