19 Objective of the Course: To help students acquire basic communication skills in the target language (English). Teaching students the related grammatical structures, reading comprehension, listening and writing techniques with the help of related lecturing and exercises.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development Providing basic foundations to successfully enhance professional development and lifelong learning.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Develops a positive attitude towards the target language.Establishes the necessary skills and academic background for targeted communication objectives.;
2 Provides basic language knowledge acquisition.Develops general cultural knowledge relevant to the target language.Acquires the ability to use expressions in everyday life.;
3 Understands and explains basic texts in the target language. Learns and actively uses the words used.;
4 Gains the ability to write at the basic level in the target language. In this direction, gets the ability to write short paragraphs, mail, information notes and etc.;
5 Gains competence to understand what s/he listens to at a basic level.Expresses himself through oral expressions, asks and answers questions.;

1 Introduction. Informing students about course content and assessment principles.
2 Talking about past experiences. Present Perfect Tense
3 Present Perfect vs Simple Past
4 Reading and listening activities related to the topics covered.
5 Giving Advice Positive/Negative Sentences using “Should”
6 Talking about obligations and prohibitions. Positive/Negative Sentences using “Must”
7 Conditional Sentences (Type0/Type1) Reading and listening activities related to the topics covered.
8 Giving a detailed description about people and places. Relative clauses with (Who/ Which/That)
9 Stating causes and effects. (Why/Because/So)
10 Stating causes and effects. (So…that/ such…that) Text review, listening, writing and grammar activities related to the subjects covered.
11 Comparative Adjectives and Adverbs
12 Superlative Adjectives and Adverbs
13 More ways of comparing. Adverbs of degree.
14 More ways of Comparing (much+adjective/ as+adjective/adverb+as/ the comparative…, the comparative…) Text review, listening, writing and grammar activities related to the subjects covered.
