19 Objective of the Course: According to requirements of the country; to teach basic concepts and principles related to the healthy /unhealthy individual's care and to gain knowledge and skills about improving health of individual / family / society, diagnosing health problems, planning appropriate nursing intervention, implementing of nursing intervention and evaluating of nursing intervention.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development It is the student to gain basic nursing skills.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To have knowledge of basic concept of profession and to establish the relationship between nursing, environment, health / disease and human concepts;
2 To have ability to apply the nursing process on healthy / patient care effectively;
3 To have ability of applying the techniques of medical and surgical asepsis and implementing nursing interventions in order to prevent infections;
4 To have ability of recognizing patient’s hygiene requirements, and meeting care requirements of the individual by taking into consideration hygienic habits;
5 To help patient mobilise by using the principles of body mechanics correctly;
6 To have ability measuring vital signs correctly, and to apply appropriate nursing care when the findings are abnormal;
7 To have ability to determine problems about breathing, urinary- intestinal and other life activities, and to have ability about planning and implementing nursing interventions, and evaluating the results of nursing care related to these problems;
8 To have ability giving oral, local ve parenteral drugs;
9 To have ability of meeting enteral and parenteral nutrition requirements of the individual;
10 To have ability of giving health care to the person approaching death and giving health care to the individual / family after death;

2 Activity of communication
3 Activity of maintaining a safe environment (Elements of safe environment, ways of protection from COVID-19 infection, admission and discharge of patients, perioperative patient care, basic principles of medical and surgical asepsis of nursing practices)
4 Activity of maintaining a safe environment (appliying oral, local ve parenteral drugs)
5 Activity of mobilising (body mechanics and movement principles, appropriate lying position)
6 Activity of personal cleansing and dressing (maintenance of skin integrity, pressure sore prevention and care, bath types)
7 Activity of breathing (nursing interventions to assist in maintaining the activity of breathing)
8 Activity of controlling body temperature (vital signs, hot and cold applications)
9 Activity of nutrition (enteral and parenteral nutrition)
10 Activity of eliminating (bowel elimination, fluid monitoring, urinary elimination)
11 Activity of expressing sexuality
12 Activity of working and playing
13 Activity of sleeping
14 Activity of dying
