19 Objective of the Course: Examining the development of social welfare systems; the social state and different welfare regimes at the global level.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development Students will be able to establish a relationship between social policy and welfare regimes.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To be able to understand social welfare understanding and practices in the pre-social state period.;
2 To be able to examine the historical dynamics that gave birth to the social state;
3 To be able to comprehend European welfare regimes and their distinctive features;
4 To understand the impact of globalization on welfare regimes;
5 To be able to discuss the global dimensions of welfare systems and the future of the welfare state;

5 Liberal welfare states: Anglo-Saxon model (UK and USA examples)
6 Corporatist welfare states: Conservative model (Germany and France examples)
7 Universalistic welfare states: Scandinavian model (Swedish and Danish examples
8 Alternative models to welfare systems (1): Southern European welfare regime
9 Alternative models to the welfare system (2): Latin America, Eastern Europe and Asia
10 Turkey's welfare regime, social state and social transformation
11 The decline and crisis of the welfare state and transformation of welfare systems
12 Sustainability of welfare systems and the future of welfare states
