19 Objective of the Course: Teaches diagnosis and treatment in surgical diseases, improves analytical thinking and problem solving skills by using his/her theoretical knowledge, follows scientific developments in his/her area and adapts them to clinical practice, assesses the condition of the surgical patient and being able to give holistic nursing care.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development Can use analytical thinking and problem solving ability to provide effective nursing care to the surgical patient and able to plan and implement holistic nursing care.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Being able to describe and practice the roles and duties of surgical nurse in perioperative (pre-op, intra-op, post-op) period;
2 Being able to recognize conditions which can cause ethical and legal dilemmas;
3 Being able to describe conditions that are threatening patient safety, able to take precautions;
4 Being able to describe conditions that are threatening staff safety, able to take precautions;
5 Being able to learn the importance of surgical asepsis and adapt it to his/her clinical practice;
6 Being able to evaluate and transfer the new knowledge Being able to fallow new scientific developments in surgical nursing and transfer them to his/her nursing practice ;
7 Include both patient and his family in his/her care by using holistic nursing approach 9. Being able to determine patient’s and his/her families’ demands, able to do patient education ;
