19 Objective of the Course: This course aims to provide detailed information on the most important areas of inquiry within contemporary social psychology (group processes, social influence, interpersonal relations, etc.), with an emphasis on interpersonal and intergroup processes. The main objective in this course is to introduce students the development of the subject areas with an overview of the major issues, theories, and methods.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development The course contributes to the student's understanding of the subfields of social psychology. It offers the chance to have a more detailed understanding of the field, especially by focusing on the details of main research topics in the field of social psychology. Thus, it is aimed that the student will have detailed knowledge about how explanations and methods in the field of social psychology have developed over time by focusing on a specific topic.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To be able to describe the historical perspective of the researches related to the social psychological phenomenon examined and the methods used;
2 To be able to differentiate conceptual and methodological aspects of approaches and theories with different perspectives on social psychological phenomena examined;
3 To be able to interpret the social psychological phenomenon examined within the framework of different approaches;
4 To be able to sample different levels of analysis of social behavior ;
5 To develop and present an argument over the social categories in our country and in the world;

23 Textbooks, References and/or Other Materials: The readings will include several chapters from the textbook(s), and one and or two short social psychological research articles on the week’s topic. Readings will be introduced at the beginning of the semester in a syllabus.
