Objective of the Course:
Main purpose of the course is to analyze the basic tenets of Ottoman economic thought , social structure and to teach students how the Ottoman bureaucratic state affected social and economic processes.

Contribution of the Course to Professional Development
Students who take this course will understand the determination levels of the Ottoman central bureaucratic state order in social and economic processes, analyze the social structure with the basic principles of Ottoman economic thought.

Learning Outcomes:

To be able to understand the sources of Ottoman social and economic history;

To be able to interpret political, economic and social factors which were decisive in Ottoman formation period;
3
To be able to evaluate the resources of Ottoman idea of state and the reasons behind the change of Ottoman classical era;

To be able to analyze effect of provizionism, fiscalism and traditionalism upon production and commerce;
5
To be able to apprehend the working of the institutions which administrated economy;
6
To be able to compare different views about Ottoman social structure;
7
To be able to evaluate the Ottoman identity and mentality in addition to the relationship of ruler-ruled;

To be able to understand the reasons and periods of basic change in Ottoman social and economic history;
