19 Objective of the Course: It is aimed to earn graduate level knowledge, skills and attitudes related to psychiatric nursing of the students in this course.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development It is dealt with issues related to introduction to psychiatric nursing and basic concepts, the conceptual framework and theories of psychiatric nursing.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Explain the basic concepts of psychiatric nursing;
2 Ability to use counseling and communication skills;
3 Apply a systematic approach in psychiatric nursing;
4 Develop positive attitudes towards people with mental health problems;
5 Ability to use appropriate nursing skills for people with mental disorders;
6 To exhibit appropriate behavior with ethical;
7 To use the psychiatric nursing knowledge and skills learned in class their own life;

6 Therapeutic communication in psychiatric nursing
7 Ethical and legal issues in psychiatry
8 Transcultural psychiatry
9 Stress, anxiety, adjustment and coping
10 Crisis and crisis intervention
11 Consulting and helping skills
12 The concept of group and group dynamics
13 Pharmacological treatments used in psychiatry and nursing approaches
14 Complementary and psychosocial therapies in psychiatry
