19 Objective of the Course: Nurses should be informed about diabetes, which is common and increasing in frequency in our society. The aim of lesson; It provides students with knowledge and skills about the care, management and education of the diabetic individual, as well as providing information on national and international developments in diabetes nursing and planning studies that contribute to the development of knowledge.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development It will enable graduate nurses to provide more conscious and safe patient care by knowing diabetes, which is one of the most common diseases.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills related to diabetes nursing;
2 Ensuring that nursing care in diabetes is met in line with professional principles and standards;
3 Planning and implementing initiatives to protect the individual, family and society from diabetes;
4 Ensuring that the health care needs of the diabetic person are met with a holistic approach in line with the nursing process;
5 Reflecting evidence-based practices in patient care as a diabetes nurse;
6 TTaking part in research, projects and activities in cooperation with the healthcare team and other disciplines with the awareness of social responsibility on diabetes nursing;
7 Making and applying appropriate patient education plans with the evaluation of an individual with diabetes;
8 Having the competence to take an active role in the care and management of the diabetic;
9 Ability to take an educational role to ensure the participation of the patient and her family in care;
10 To be able to evaluate and transfer what she learned;
